The fifteenth exhibit in the Mobile Carnival Museum's thematic series, Carnival and War: Mardi Gras during Times of Armed Conflict examines how Mobile's greatest living traditions has responded to military struggles from the Mexican-American Wart to the Vietnam War. Occupying the whole of the grand reception room of the old house portion of the Mobile Carnival Museum, Carnival and War features military weapons, uniforms, fine art, exquisite textiles, and much more. Each segment of the show includes accounts and artifacts of Carnival luminaries who participated in military campaigns, views of Mobile during those war years, and local and international accounts of Mobile's Carnival celebrations. Carnival and War employs original pieces, audio, and film in ways that engage visitors of all ages and interests.
